Germain, who has served as an Assistant Coach with the Kodiaks since the 2023-24 season, brings a wealth of coaching experience and leadership to the role. Before joining the Kodiaks, Germain spent three seasons as Head Coach of the St. Paul Canadiens in the NEAJBHL, where he held a record of 47-15 throughout the three seasons. He also contributed to Red Deer Polytechnic as an Assistant Coach in the ACAC during the 2022-23 season, where he won an ACAC championship.
In addition to his roles in the AJHL and ACAC, Germain has been involved with Team Alberta Grey at the Alberta Cup as an Assistant Coach, further showcasing his talent in player development and game strategy.
“We are excited to have Shawn lead our team in this new capacity,” said the Kodiaks’ General Manager Eric Kroetch. “His experience, dedication, and passion for the game makes him the perfect fit to guide our team forward. We have great confidence in his ability to steer the Kodiaks through the rest of the season.”
