CAMROSE — The Camrose Kodiaks have signed forward Cole Balkovec, the club announced Tuesday.
Balkovec, 18, brings a powerful presence to the Kodiaks’ forward lines, born in Mequon, Wisconsin, USA, with dual citizenship in the USA and Canada.
In the 2021-22 season with RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna U16 in the CSSHL U16 league, Balkovec tallied 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points in 31 games, adding 6 points in 4 playoff games. Moving forward, Balkovec’s tenure with RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna U18 saw him excel with 31 points in 33 regular-season games, along with 4 points in 5 playoff games in the CSSHL.
Transitioning to higher competition, he suited up for the Penticton Vees in the BCHL and the Langley Rivermen, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to the game.
Standing tall at 6’2″ and weighing 194 lbs, Balkovec’s right-handed shot and dynamic playstyle will undoubtedly bolster the Kodiaks’ offensive capabilities and grittiness as they prepare for Main Camp commencing August 19th.
