CAMROSE — The Camrose Kodiaks are excited to announce the signing of Delta born forward Justin Ivanusec, the club confirmed Thursday.

Ivanusec, 18, from Delta, British Columbia, brings a strong blend of offensive skill and experience to the Kodiaks’ forward group. Standing at 6’0″ and weighing 179 lbs, the right-shooting forward has developed a reputation for his smart playmaking ability and consistency at both ends of the ice.

In the 2023-24 season split between the Vancouver Giants and Calgary Hitmen of the WHL, Ivanusec continued to refine his game, appearing in a total of 46 games and tallying 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists). Ivanusec’s versatility has seen him excel in multiple roles, making an impact on special teams and playing a steady two-way game.

Before his WHL experience, Ivanusec showcased his offensive talent in the CSSHL, posting 30 points in 31 games for Yale Hockey Academy U18 Prep during the 2022-23 season. His performances at the prep level were a testament to his work ethic and growth as a player, highlighted by a 22-point season with Burnaby Winter Club U18 Prep in 2021-22.

“Justin is a player with a lot of upside, and we’re thrilled to add him to our roster,” said the Kodiaks’ Hockey Operations Staff. “His experience in the WHL has provided him with the tools to be a key contributor for us this season, and we believe he’ll play an important role in our team’s success.”

The Camrose Kodiaks welcome Justin Ivanusec to the team. Kodiaks fans can look forward to seeing him in action as they play at home against the defending AJHL Champions the Calgary Canucks October 6th in the Encana Arena.
