Transaction | Kodiaks Sign Jacob Margarit (D)

CAMROSE — The Camrose Kodiaks have signed American Jacob Margarit (D), the club announced Saturday.

The Camrose Kodiaks are thrilled to announce the signing of Jacob Margarit, a highly promising right-handed defenseman committed to Army West Point (NCAA Division I). Margarit joins the Kodiaks from the Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

In the 2023-24 season with the Kenai River Brown Bears, Margarit recorded 0 goals and 9 assists for 9 points in 50 games. Prior to his time with Kenai River, Margarit spent some time with the Philadelphia Rebels (NAHL) aswell as the Madison Capitols (USHL). Before making the jump to Junior A hockey Margarit played for Academy of Holy Angels and Blue Army AAA.

When asked why he chose to sign with Camrose, Margarit said “I chose Camrose because of the highly knowledgeable coaching staff with good playing and coaching experience which can help my development. They preach that having good culture is their top priority and that’s what I’m looking for. As well as feeling very comfortable and welcomed to their organization. I am excited to play in a town like Camrose and take on the season with the Kodiaks.”
