CAMROSE — The Camrose Kodiaks have signed American A.J. Schaaf (F), the club announced Wednesday.
Schaaf, 18, joins the Kodiaks after a stellar season with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18U AAA team. The Gibsonia, Pennsylvania native brings significant size and scoring ability to the Kodiaks lineup.
In the 2023-24 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18UAAA, Schaaf recorded 21 goals and 24 assists for 45 points in 51 games. Standing at 6’4″ and weighing 207 lbs, Schaaf’s presence on the ice is both imposing and impactful. His right-handed shot and offensive prowess will be a valuable addition to the Kodiaks’ forward group.
When asking A.J. what made him want to come to Camrose, he said “Hearing all about the community and what the team does for them, and how they in response show out for team. That to me tells me that Camrose is a special place and organization”
The Kodiaks continue to prepare for the upcoming season with main camp starting August 19th.
