CAMROSE, AB — The Camrose Kodiaks are excited to announce the signing of Calgary-born forward Christian Stephanson, the team confirmed today.
Stephanson, 17, joins the Kodiaks after an impressive season with the Calgary Buffaloes U18 AAA program, where he demonstrated his playmaking ability and offensive instincts. Standing at 5’8” and weighing 146 lbs, the right-shot forward brings a quick, agile presence to the lineup.
In the 2023-24 season, Stephanson tallied 45 points (17G, 28A) over 38 regular-season games with the Calgary Buffaloes U18 AAA team in the AEHL. His contributions were key in leading the Buffaloes to the AEHL U18 Championship, adding 8 points in 10 playoff games. He also represented the Buffaloes at the prestigious Telus Cup, where he recorded 3 points in 7 games.
Stephanson got a taste of AJHL action last season as an Affiliate Player for the Kodiaks, suiting up for 1 game before spending the start of the 2024-25 season with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.
“We’re thrilled to have Christian back in Camrose,” said the Kodiaks’ Hockey Operations Staff. “He’s a player with great vision and energy who we believe will be a valuable addition to our forward group.”
The Camrose Kodiaks are looking forward to seeing Stephanson develop his game as he takes on a full-time role in the AJHL this season.
