Camrose, AB – The Camrose Kodiaks are pleased to announce the acquisition of Wilson Maxfield (04) and Dylan Bidyk (04) in a trade with the Devon Xtreme. In exchange, the Kodiaks have sent defenseman Michael Gallant and a Player Development Fee to Devon.
Wilson Maxfield brings a wealth of experience, including an AJHL Championship with the Brooks Bandits in 2022-23. Known for his calm demeanor and ability to deliver in high-pressure situations, the 20-year-old goaltender boasts a career .904 save percentage and a track record of success at every level.
Dylan Bidyk, a 19-year-old defenseman, is a valuable addition to the Kodiaks’ blue line. With 12 points in 25 games this season, Bidyk combines grit and offensive upside with an ability to adapt to various roles, making him a reliable two-way option.
Kodiaks General Manager Eric Kroetch shared his perspective on the trade:
“We are thrilled to bring in players of Wilson and Dylan’s caliber. Wilson’s championship experience will provide a steadying presence in the crease, while Dylan’s versatility and toughness will enhance our defensive core. These are players who can make an impact immediately.”
The Kodiaks express their gratitude to Michael Gallant for his contributions to the team and wish him all the best with the Xtreme.
As the second half of the season approaches, this move underscores the Kodiaks’ commitment to building a competitive team ready to contend in the AJHL. Fans can look forward to seeing both Maxfield and Bidyk suit up in the Kodiaks’ colors in the coming weeks.
