Camrose, AB – The Camrose Kodiaks are very excited to announce that defencemen Jarod Newell has committed to the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings. (ACAC).
Newell laced up with the Kodiaks for 123 AJHL games dating back to the 2019-20 season. Newell racked up 38 points and 287 penalty minutes with his time with the club.
Kodiaks GM Boris Rybalka says, “Newell is a big, strong, shutdown defenceman who works hard on and off the ice to better his game. We are proud to see Jarod move on to the next level with a great organization”
RDP Kings Hockey Coach Trevor Keeper stated “As always with recruiting, we look to add pieces of the puzzle that will fit into our culture and needed skill set. We are excited about the addition of a physical, shut-down type of defenceman with the experience Jarod has accumulated over his junior career. Looking forward to having another Kodiak join our fold.”
The Kodiaks organization would like to congratulate Jarod, his family, and his billet family on his commitment! Best of luck Jarod!
